DAYS OF DEATH

2 x 2 x 3 ft
wood sculpture and digital video installation
2025

Days of Death is a multimedia sculptural installation piece, including a wood and plaster house build and a screen housed within that plays a digital animation on loop. This piece reflects the story of my mother’s childhood home, a house that has gone through turbulence but filled with memories. What is a home but a decaying husk, separating those inside from the vast world outside? What does it mean for a family when this house is gone, and when the nature that existed around it disappears along with it? As a love letter to the matriarchs of my family, I constructed this piece as an archive of their times there, through words exchanged and old, sepia photos shared.
The first iteration of this was shown at La Mama Galleria, as part of a group exhibition, and later refined and added to for the BFA Design and Technology Thesis Show.
